KrakOpen’09
Open Cracow Team Programming Challenge
April 17-19, 2009
KrakOpen, Open Cracow Team Programming Challenge was students from Student Society MediaFrame and Student Society BIT idea . The first edition was held in 2007. Eighty three students have already put them in shoes of KrakOpen participants.
It is considered that Poland and countries from Central and Eastern Europe are leaders in this field of Information Technology. There are many similar competitions in Europe, but unfortunatlly not supported by mass media, so they are not as interesting as they should be. That was the idea when in 2007 we organized KrakOpen for the first time.
KrakOpen is the unique competition for programmers, which gives them the opportunity to present their knowledge and skills in team programming. Participants will have a chance to get to know students with similar interests, take part in seminars, get some first-hand experience and compete with people from different European countires. They will also have a chance to learn about the cultural and historical heritage of Cracow and Wieliczka.
This year KrakOpen is becoming international. We invited students from five European countries to compete in five hours long rounds in Salt Mine Wieliczka, 150 meters underground. We hope that in the future KrakOpen will evolve to World wide event and motivate youth to develop their programming skills.
