KrakOpen, Open Cracow Team Programming Challange, will be held in Salt Mine Wieliczka, 150 meters underground, from April 17 to April 19, 2009 under the patronage of:

Marek Nawara - the Marshal of Malopolska district
Jacek Majchrowski - the President of Cracow
Antoni Tajduś - the Rector of AGH University of Science and Technology
Artur Kozioł- the Mayor of Wieliczka

KrakOpen is the unique competition for programmers, which gives them the opportunity to present their knowledge and skills in team programming. Programmers will have a chance to take part in seminars and classes connected with IT, get some first-hand experience and compete with people from different European countries. We will also give them the opportunity to learn about the cultural and historical heritage of Cracow and Wieliczka.

The first edition of the event took place place in 2007, we had an honor to host 83 contestant from Poland. Students form 27 teams have already put themselves in the shoes of KrakOpen participants. This year Open Cracow programming challenge is going international. Participants will compete in triple teams in 5 hours long round. Ten problems to solve will test their innovation, knowleadge, and cooperation skills. They will also have a chance to get familliar with specificity of this kind of competitions, to meet other people who are keen on computer programming and win very valuable prizes.
